Eagle Scout candidate Christopher Lively contributed to the continued restoration of Sarpy County VFW Post 9675 through a thoughtful and practical improvement to the facility’s interior. His project focused on the construction of a custom counter extension that both enhanced functionality and improved the visual appeal of a previously overlooked area.

The new extension was designed to cover the exposed water heater, seamlessly blending into the existing cabinetry while adding usable surface space. The addition not only improved the overall appearance of the area but also increased safety and efficiency within the post’s communal space.

Christopher led the project from planning through completion, coordinating materials, managing volunteers, and ensuring that the final design met the needs of post members and daily users. The result is a cleaner, more functional environment that reflects care, craftsmanship, and service to those who have served.

His work exemplifies the leadership, initiative, and community-minded spirit that define the path to Eagle—leaving behind a space better than he found it, and built to last.
