Eagle Scout candidate Jayden Herod chose a project that brought care, dignity, and a sense of belonging to some of the most vulnerable members of the community—children in the foster care system.
For his Eagle Scout project, Jayden coordinated the decoration and assembly of duffel bags filled with comfort items and essentials for children entering foster care. Each bag was thoughtfully packed with age-appropriate items such as toiletries, books, stuffed animals, blankets, and personal notes—small gestures that can make a big difference during a difficult time of transition.
The project’s beneficiary was Project Harmony, a local child advocacy agency that supports children and families navigating abuse, neglect, and trauma. By partnering with this trusted organization, Jayden ensured that the bags reached children in urgent need of comfort and stability.
Jayden also led volunteers in decorating each duffel bag, giving them a personal and encouraging touch to help foster youth feel seen and supported. The project involved collecting donations, organizing assembly efforts, and coordinating delivery with Project Harmony staff.
Through compassion, organization, and servant leadership, Jayden’s project reflects the true spirit of Scouting—making a meaningful difference in the lives of others, one small act of kindness at a time.
Beneficiary: Project Harmony
