Eagle Scout candidate Mason Good brought craftsmanship and community spirit together in his Eagle Scout project, which focused on enhancing the outdoor gathering space at Sarpy County VFW Post 9675. His project included the construction of a brand-new pergola and the reconstruction of the existing fire pit seating area, transforming a well-used corner of the property into a more welcoming and functional environment.

The project began with detailed planning and team coordination as Mason led the effort to build a sturdy wooden pergola—a new architectural feature that offers both shade and character to the space. Designed for use during flag retirement ceremonies, cookouts, and community events, the pergola enhances the post’s ability to host gatherings in comfort.

Alongside the new structure, Mason directed the rebuild of the post’s fire pit seating area, replacing worn-out materials and improving layout and safety. The updated space provides a warm and inviting spot for veterans, families, and guests to gather, reflect, and connect.

By investing in a space where stories are shared and community is built, Mason’s project stands as a reflection of Scouting’s highest values—leadership, service, and honoring those who serve.
